Applying for Funding
The application process is simple and risk free.

The application and case review process generally takes less than thirty minutes of attorney or law firm staff time. |
|
|
|
|
There are no application fees or closing costs. |
|
|
|
|
The client is under no obligation and may withdraw from the process at any time, and for any reason, prior to closing. |

The Application
The application process is initiated with the submission to LawFunds® of:

A completed application with supporting documents, |
|
|
|
|
A signed client credit information release, and |
|
|
|
|
A signed client confidentiality waiver. |

Application forms are available online and can also be found in the LawFunds® Information Package. Once this information has been received by LawFunds®, the application is submitted for underwriting.
Underwriting
For the vast majority of applications, underwriting can be completed based on the information provided in the initial application submission. Occasionally, however, additional case information will be requested. Depending on the nature of the case and the completeness of the initial application submission, underwriting may take from 48 hours to 4 weeks. If the case is approved, the underwriter establishes the level of funding and associated fees.
The Offer
If a case satisfies LawFunds®' stringent underwriting criteria, both client and counsel will be notified of the approved amount and the fees related to the funding. Funding offers remain open for five (5) business days, during which time the client and counsel should confer regarding the offer and determine whether or not to proceed.
The Closing
When a client accepts a funding offer, LawFunds® prepares all the required documentation and forwards it to the client's counsel for review. After reviewing the documents, a mutually convenient closing with client, counsel and a LawFunds® Funding Specialist is scheduled. Upon execution of all required documents, funds are advanced in accordance with the client's instructions.
